Weekly "GiveAway" ------------------------------------------------ Mark's Vermont Granola Bars with Vermont Morning Breakfast Cereal and Morse Farm Maple Syrup (and a big tip of the hat to King Arthur Flour Cookie Companion) Preheat oven to 450 Put two cups of Vt Morning, 1 plus Cup of chopped Nuts (pistachios, almonds and peanuts, walnuts and sunflower seeds) on a greased 9x13 baking sheet. Bake 6-8 minutes, keeping a close eye on it and moving the mix around to avoid burning on the edges. When you smell the cinnamon in the VTM, it's done. Place in bowl, add 1/2-3/4 cup of raisins and dried cranberries, dried apricot and coconut. I'm not a coconut lover, they're great without. In a medium saucepan, melt 3/4 stick of butter, 1/2 cup of Morse Farm maple syrup, 1/4 cup corn syrup, 1/4 cup of brown sugar and a pinch or two of salt. Boil gently 4-5 minutes, add 1/2 tsp of vanilla. Pour over the Vt Morning/nut mix and stir. Spread the mix back onto the baking sheet. You can add chocolate chips if you like. Cook 4-5 minutes, until it bubbles. Don't overcook. Cool for a good 10 minutes, cut in strips the long way, remove from baking sheet and then cut into the size you want. Hope you like them.
